Thanksgiving 2014 using Psalm 136

Maybe this easy exercise will help you and your family count your blessings and give thanks to God this Thanksgiving weekend!?

Psalm 136

First Reading: Leader reads regular font, FAMILY reads the italicized refrain.

Second Reading: Read the Psalm section by section taking time to journal and reflect on the verses and the questions or statements connected to the verses.

·      Ps. 136:1-3 – Express your thanks about who the Triune God is, His character

·      Ps. 136:4-9 – What aspects of God the Father’s Creation do you marvel at?

·      Ps. 136:10-15 – How has the Holy Spirit brought you through the wilderness and trials of life? What “Ebenezer” stones dot your path in life? (See 1 Samuel 7:2-13)

·      Ps. 136:16-22 – Name the enemies that Jesus has had victory over in your life

·      Ps. 136:23-26 – Give thanks for those ways that the LORD has provided for you

Third Reading: To close, have the women read the regular font,  and the men read the refrain or vice versa and then designate someone to close this time of thanksgiving in prayer.

God bless you all this Thanksgiving season!
